Two Weeks to the First Race of 2012

The return to Oulton Park in Cheshire for the first time since 2008 promises to be one of the highlights of the year.

The 2012 Dunlop Mini Se7en and Mini Miglia Challenges will get underway in just two weeks with a return to the magnificent Oulton Park for the first time since 2008.  This is a BARC Car Championship one day event on Saturday 24 March with qualifying in the morning and races in the afternoon.

In 2008 Paul Thompson scored his 3rd Mini Se7en win of the season finishing 3.7 seconds ahead of reigning champion Max Hunter and a further 5 seconds ahead of Niven Burge in 3rd place.  Thompson went onto win his second Mini Se7en title at the end of the 10 races.

Andy Hack won the Miglia race just 1.1 seconds ahead of his nearest rival, with the top five finishers separated by just 2.2 seconds in typically Miglia style.  Hack also went onto win the second of his three titles at the end of 2008.  Perhaps this means the winners of the Oulton Park races in 2012 will also perform a similar feat?

A full days racing is on offer with ten races in total, which includes the Dunlop Production Touring Car Trophy and the Intersteps Championship.
